Instructions for Author

  • Manuscripts of original unpublished research articles, not submitted to any other Journal for publication, research notes, review articles, comments, rejoinders and book reviews are welcomed for publication in JHS.
  • The length of Manuscripts should not be more than 6000 words including footnotes and reference. However relaxation in length limit can be considered for extraordinary original research papers. The manuscript should contain a title, not more than 20 words and an abstract up to 200 words.
  • All correspondence should be addressed to Editor, Journal of Historical Studies, Department of History, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan Pakistan, 60800, or on the email. jhs@bzu.edu.pk
  • The publication of manuscripts shall be subject to peer blind review process at least by two reviewers as per requirements of HEC Pakistan. Contributors of the JHS assign copyright to JHS. However contributor retain the right to republish their contributions in a work of their own or they are editing without seeking permission from the JHS, subject to full acknowledgements of JHS.
  • Request for  Book Review in the Journal must be accompanied by two copies of the book to be reviewed.
  • Each Manuscript should by typed double spaced (except for footnotes and inset quotations) on one side of paper and should carry a margin of an inch and a half on the left side of the typed page.
  • The JHS has opted Chicago Manual of Style   for references
  • The first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the article, the name of the author, and footnote giving the current affiliations of the author, and acknowledgments, if any.
  • Footnotes should be numbered consecutively. Each appendix and table should have separate of footnotes.
  • The authors will receive one complimentary copy of the Journal with an online access to the Journal or will be provided a soft copy
  • To avoid any mishap, in transit, the contributors are requested to retain a copy of their manuscripts before their submission to the department.
